Family photos are very important to have, but they can be very stressful. There is a lot to consider when you are preparing for them. What should everyone wear? What works with everyone's schedule? Where should you take them? What is the best time of day to take them?  I will make this process go as easy as possible for you! This is supposed to be a fun time to spend with your family that you can remember forever, so just relax and make it a time to remember! 

Wardrobe:

Family photos aren’t just about everyone having the same shirt on anymore. These photos are supposed to share everyone's personality and what they like to wear. You can coordinate colors in your own style. Just pick a couple of colors and work with those. Get everyone together to go shopping or go through everyone's closet so you are all prepared days before and not a couple of hours before. The goal is to have a color scheme with everyone matching in different ways! 

Location and Time:

Most photographers will help you choose a park they know photographs well, a studio, or maybe somewhere like your backyard/home. Parks make a great background for your photos. In a studio, you are guaranteed to have great lighting. You also won’t have to worry about weather! Your home is a really fun place to take pictures because that is a place where your family grows and where all of your memories are. As of time of day, any time could really work. Golden hour is always a great time, but you have to think about what works best for you and your family. 

Extra Tips: 

Talk to your children. Let them know what is about to happen and try to explain what you will need from them just to make them more comfortable when the time comes.m Another idea is to bring snacks. If you’re nervous on how your child is going to react, then snacks can help keep them in check. Finally, just have fun! This is not supposed to be stressful. We want to capture your beautiful smiles and laughs. This is a moment you can cherish forever!
