Hi! I’m Jamie…
…wife, mother to three (two that are nearly Irish twins), daughter, sister and friend. I have been preserving lifetime memories for hundreds of families throughout Central Indiana and the Indianapolis area for 15 years now! I currently live in Franklin on a horse farm with our three dogs and two horses, and the kids usually have a goat or pig around for their current 4-h project:)
My love of photography began at the age of 8 when my grandmother gave me my first “real” camera. After going to Purdue University for my undergrad and Indiana University for my Master’s, then working as both a CMT and musician (yep, my resume looked a little like Forrest Gump’s lol), Scott and I married and almost immediately started growing our family. When I realized with my experience that I could probably photograph my babies just as well as someone else, I started J Simpson Photography while home with my babies and focused mainly on weddings while I learned the intricacies involved with photographing newborns. Now, I focus mainly on maternity, newborn and family sessions, and am loving every second of it!
Meet my Assistant, Madi!
Those of you who have been in the studio the past couple of years have already met Madi, my amazing assistant! (and no, we’re not related - I promise it’s just the hair!) She came to me as an Arts major at UIndy, and now helps me during almost all of my newborn and maternity sessions. Madi loves the outdoors and spending time on the lake with her family. She is currently building her portfolio and has been promoted to Associate Photographer for milestone and family sessions!
Meet Tera!
Tera helps me with social media posts and other online presences. Her hobbies include gardening, crocheting and “starting projects I don’t finish”….and has quite the sense of humor, too! She also lives in Franklin with her husband and kiddos.
